The Bible
Discovery Class
[Room 110
(Library) -- Main Level
of Nurture Building]
Covenant lessons come from
Chronicles, Nehemiah, Daniel, Haggai, and Luke. The word covenant
is no longer commonly used, but it is an important word in the Bible.
Come and find out why! In the Bible Discovery Class, whether
participating in discussions or simply listening, your faith will be
strengthened through the study of God’s Word.

:
God, the People, and
the Covenant
Prayer is essential for a
covenant relationship with God, and Daniel’s prayer for his people is a
great example of how to pray. After the exile, the prophet Haggai, the
governor Nehemiah, and the priest Ezra are key figures who inspired
renewed obedience to God’s covenant. The people responded with worship
and commitment to obey. God’s Word is still essential for such revival!

Foundations Class
[Room 212/213
-- Upper Level
of Nurture Building]
The
intent of this class is to offer series that build a foundation
in our knowledge of Christianity while developing our faith. In this
final series of the season, philosopher-theologian Keith Ward argues
that without religion, the human race would be considerably worse off
and have little hope for the future. See why!

:
Is Religion
Dangerous>
Holy wars,
crusades, discrimination, intolerance—these by-products of religion are
all that many can see. But is religion dangerous? Is it a force for
evil or even “the root of all evil,” as has been claimed? Does religion
lead to terrorism and violence? Are religious beliefs irrational and
immoral? What is the response to today’s critics of religion?
Remaining topics :
ARE RELIGIOUS
BELIEFS IMMORAL?
Morality and the Bible
Morality and Faith
The Enlightenment, Liberal Thought and Religion
DOES
RELIGION DO MORE HARM THAN GOOD?
Does religion do more harm than good in personal
life?
What good has religion done?
Our Relationships
Class
[Fellowship Hall -- Lower Level
of Nurture Building]
The intent of this class
is to gain a Christian approach to the relationships in our lives
(husband/wife, parent/grandparent/child, friends/ co-workers/
neighbors/brothers and sisters in Christ). This final series of the
season featuring on DVD well-known speaker Joyce Meyer deals with a
topic that can rob us of joy and peace in ANY of these relationships, as
well as our relationship with God.
NEW! MAY
4 through JUNE 1 :
Dealing With Offense
Let It Go, and You Will Find Peace
It happens
every day! In fact, since the time you were old enough to remember,
you’ve probably encountered it several times a day. But what you may
not realize is that YOUR RESPONSE to it has a direct impact on your
ability to live in peace and enjoy your life! What is it? It’s the
CHOICE we make to be offended or not be offended.
Two things
we need to understand about being offended:
1)
We will always have opportunities to be
offended – ALWAYS.
2)
God will always provide us a path that
leads away from being offended and into
His fulfillment and peace – ALWAYS.
Unfortunately, we often find angry and offended people in the body of
Christ. The end result of keeping offense in our hearts is costly,
preventing God from doing anything valuable in us or through us. Joyce
Meyer gives us an opportunity to understand how to let go of offense and
experience the victorious life of God.

LIQUID: Crossing
Life is a Journey
LIQUID
is a new teaching series that translates Bible accounts into the
language of today’s culture. Based on the Book of Joshua, the
Crossing series explores the extraordinary things that can happen
when we trust God and let Him lead the way vs. letting fear and
insecurity paralyze us and keep us from crossing over.
ASK ABOUT TRANSPORTATION IF NEEDED!
The C-YA CLASS CONCLUDES MAY 25 DUE TO THE GHANA
